HC demands action report on ‘drought’ in Uttarkashi
Dehradun: Uttarakhand HC, while adjudicating a PIL on the acute water scarcity in Barkot, Uttarkashi, has directed the state govt, in conjunction with the Uttarakhand Peyjal Nigam and Jal Sansthan, to furnish a comprehensive affidavit on the “drought-like condition in the area”. During the proceedings, the HC also observed that the potable water crisis is an issue “plaguing parts of the state”.
The next hearing is slated for Oct 10.
