NEW DELHI: Delhi police officers on patrol in B Block of Dakshin Puri, under the jurisdiction of Ambedkar Nagar police station, rescued an 18-year-old youth named Lucky who was being assaulted by three individuals, officials reported on Saturday.
The victim was found being beaten and was promptly taken to the hospital for treatment of his injuries.
The Delhi Police stated that a team from the Ambedkar Nagar police station was on patrol in B Block, Dakshin Puri when they heard the commotion of a quarrel near the Mohalla Clinic.
Upon arriving at the scene, they discovered three individuals attacking Lucky, who is 18 years old. The assailants were armed with a knife.
"The police acted promptly, apprehending one assailant and, with the help of the public, rushed the injured Lucky to the hospital."
Lucky reported in his statement that he was attacked by three individuals, one of whom was carrying a country-made gun, in addition to the knife.
The investigation revealed that Lucky had previously beaten one of the assailants a few months prior, and the attack was an act of revenge by that individual and his accomplices, according to the police.
The police have registered a case under the relevant sections of the IPC, and the investigation is ongoing.
