List of demands revealed: Andhra Pradesh CM Chandrababu Naidu and Telangana CM Revanth Reddy's priorities in talks with PM Modi in Delhi
NEW DELHI: Telangana chief minister A Revanth Reddy and Andhra Pradesh chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu met with Prime Minister Modi and senior cabinet members on Thursday.
They each presented an extensive list of demands for their respective states. Here is the wish list from both CMs:
Telangana CM A Revanth Reddy demands:
  • Revanth Reddy asked Prime Minister Narendra Modi to give 2,450 acres of defense land in Greater Hyderabad to the state.
  • In exchange, he offered to permanently transfer 2,462 acres of state government land in Raviryal, which is currently leased to the Research Centre Imarat.
  • CM expressed concern about the Centre's decision to include the Sravanapally coal block in the auction list and requested its removal.
  • He requested to allocate the Sravanapally coal block to Singareni Collieries Company Limited (SCCL), a Telangana public sector company with the state holding 51% and the Centre 49%.
  • He also asked for an IIM in Telangana, highlighting the Centre's policy of having one IIM in each state.
  • Revanth Reddy urged to include Telangana in India's semiconductor mission, noting many companies want to establish semiconductor firms in Hyderabad.
  • Sanction 25 lakh houses under the PM Awas Yojana over the next five years.
  • Revive the Information Technology Investment Region (ITIR) project for Telangana, reminding the PM of the Centre’s earlier promise made in 2010 by the UPA government for Hyderabad and Bengaluru.

Andhra Pradesh CM N Chandrababu Naidu demands:
  • Naidu requested industrial incentives and a special package for backward regions, similar to what was promised for Bundelkhand during the state bifurcation.
  • He informed the Prime Minister that the state is still struggling with the effects of the unfair and unscientific bifurcation.
  • Naidu also met with several union ministers to update them on the allocation of funds for pending projects in Andhra Pradesh.
  • Naidu presented a long list of requests for the state, including immediate funds for infrastructure, additional support for capital expenditures, funding for the development of Amaravati and the establishment of a new oil refinery.
  • He asked for financial support from the Centre and proposed that some announcements be included in the upcoming union budget.
  • Naidu criticized the YSRC government for its lack of a strategic long-term development plan, which worsened the state's financial position.
  • He mentioned that essential expenses such as salaries, pensions and debt payments have surpassed the state's revenue, leaving no room for capital investments.
  • Naidu also pointed out that critical projects like Polavaram, Amaravati capital city, irrigation schemes and road networks were completely neglected by the previous administration.
