Full state budget likely in August as Telangana awaiting clarity on central funds
Bhatti Vikramarka
HYDERABAD: Telangana govt is likely to present its full budget in the second week of Aug during the assembly session. The full budget will be presented in the assembly only after the state gets clarity on funds allocation from the Centre under various schemes when Union finance minister Nirmala Sitharaman will present the full Union budget in the third week of July.

Both the Centre and the state govt presented vote-on-account budgets ahead of the Lok Sabha polls. The Congress govt presented its vote-on-account budget on Feb 10 with an outlay of Rs 2,75,891 crore but did not allocate funds for schemes such as Dalit Bandhu or Indiramma housing. Despite facing severe fund crunch, finance minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka told TOI that the revised budget will have allocations for all the schemes as promised by Congress during the assembly elections.
Schemes

Based on the schemes and assurances from the Centre, Telangana govt will revise the allocations to various departments, he said. In the vote-on-account budget, highest allocations of Rs 40,000 crore for panchayat raj and rural development, Rs 21,389 crore for education, Rs 11,692 crore for municipal administration, Rs 21,874 crore for SC welfare and Rs 13,313 crore for ST welfare were made.
