Hyderabad: Want 'Sajjanar-style' justice, says girl's dad

HYDERABAD: The distraught father of the four-year-old girl allegedly raped by the school principal's driver has demanded "Sajjanar-style justice" for his child on Wednesday. He was referring to the Disha encounter, in which four culprits were shot dead by cops in an alleged encounter at Chatanpally near Shamshabad in 2019 when VC Sajjanar was the Cyberabad police commissioner.
"We demand that the accused should be dealt by Sajjanar. Only then will we get justice," the girl's father said.

Sobbing inconsolably, the mother of the girl stood in front of the police station all day demanding justice. "Both my daughters are disturbed. The younger one of the two was just sitting perplexed and when I prodded her, she told me that she has pain in her private parts. When I asked her what happened, she said the principal had called her to the room, where a man was there and he caused it. Indicating a car steering, she described the man in a blue shirt, black pants and a pink underwear. She was so specific, so I knew right away that this is serious and happening for some time," she added.
The parents had utter contempt for the management of the school. "If the principal was serious, she should have been the one to lodge a police complaint, but she didn't and sided with the accused. In fact, the principal of school's main branch met us today, but did not even speak about taking this up with police. We felt like he was mocking our pain," the mother told TOI. "Of the two daughters, one of them is already so scared, she won't even look at men now. Who will fix this scar? Their lives are ruined," she said.
The parents of other students of UKG and LKG stood in solidarity with the parents of the survivor and demanded stringent action against the administration. "None of us want to continue in this school. This incident is a tipping point for the months of carelessness, which I had experienced it personally. Once my child was not to be seen post school for 10 minutes and was found later outside, which prompted me and others to ask the principal to install CCTV cameras at the school, but 5 months on, the principal hasn't taken any action," shared another parent, mother of an LKG student.
"We demand that education minister Sabitha Indra Reddy get involved and get us refund for school fees, which includes 70,000 donation and 50,000 fees along with TC so that our children can leave this traumatic experience behind and move on," Anil, parent of a UKG student, said.
Meanwhile, it is learnt that the school has given a week-long holiday to the students, citing Diwali and building repairs.
