DAVV asks colleges to share receipts given by police stns
Indore: In the wake of a recent MBA paper leak scandal, Devi Ahilya Vishwavidyalaya (DAVV) has rolled out stringent measures ahead of the upcoming undergraduate examinations scheduled to commence from July 16.
On Friday, DAVV instructed all the colleges doubling up as exam centres to share receipts received from the police stations after submitting sealed envelopes containing question papers.
With approximately 71,000 students expected to participate in the B.Com, BA, B.Sc, and BBA exams, the university has introduced strict protocols aimed at preventing any irregularities during the assessment process. Colleges are mandated to submit the question papers to the local police station and subsequently email a photograph of the receipt to DAVV as proof of compliance. This procedural adjustment marks a significant departure from previous practices. .
Dr Ashesh Tiwari, exam controller, DAVV said "We have doubled the number of flying squads to ensure greater vigilance. Additionally, we are deploying 15 observers per exam, a first in our examination history. The colleges have been given strict instructions to share receipts from police stations after depositing question papers.”. As per the previous practice, colleges did not submit any receipt from the police stations even though it was mentioned in the rules. “It was expected of the colleges to keep the question papers at police stations however, the recent paper leak has emerged as a cause of concern for us,” added Tiwari.
Beyond logistical adjustments, the university administration is also bolstering efforts to oversee the evaluation process. Measures are being implemented to minimize errors and ensure transparency in grading procedures. "We are closely monitoring the evaluation to prevent discrepancies or lapses in checking," Prof Tiwari added. TNN
