Indore: For the regional industry conclave in July at Jabalpur, the state govt is targeting to connect large industries with Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) to boost ancillary units and expand vendor base for different sectors in the region.
Targeting to lure investments in the defence, food processing, textiles and minerals among other key focus sectors, the industries department is trying to rope in top industries for the conclave.
The focus of the govt is not on inviting international delegates but to lure investments from investors to the Mahakaushal region and build a platform for MSME’s, said officials from the industries department wishing anonymity.
The nodal Madhya Pradesh Industrial Development Corporation (MPIDC) has started extending invitations to industrialists and potential investors.
“The second edition of the regional industry conclave is scheduled on July 20 at Jabalpur. We have started extending invites to industries and potential investors for the conclave. As this is a regional conclave, the focus is to handhold local industries and establish a connection between them and large players. Strengthening local industries will help in boosting regional economy and create job opportunities,” said MPIDC managing director Chandramauli Shukla.
Defence, agro based industries, textile, minerals and agriculture are the key focus sectors of the industry conclave at Jabalpur.
MPIDC has 15 industrial areas in Jabalpur with Borgaon in Pandhurna district, food park and Maneri industrial area among others. “We are aiming to attract investment in Jabalpur region from across the country. We have 15 industrial belts and an abundant land bank. We are making presentations to inform investors about investment opportunities in Jabalpur,” said MPIDC Jabalpur executive director Srishti Prajapati. TNN
