Indore: Two agro industries have taken up land in Hoshangabad district and proposed to invest close to Rs 680 crore in
Madhya Pradesh for setting up a starch manufacturing unit and a food processing unit.
An Andhra Pradesh based starch manufacturer has taken up 110 acre in Mohasa Babai industrial area about, 93 km from the state capital. The company has intended to make an investment of Rs 670 crore and generate employment for around 335 people, according to Madhya Pradesh Industrial Development Corporation (MPIDC).
Another agro industry headquartered in Raipur has proposed to set up a processing unit at Mohasa Babai on 2 acre and expected to invest Rs 10 crore. A total of three industries including a Bhopal based beverage manufacturer have invested at the Mohasa Babai industrial area in Hoshangabad district, according to MPIDC. The beverage company has proposed to set up a facility on 1 acre and is likely to invest Rs 5 crore. The proposed employment generation by the company is 20, according to MPIDC.
“Recently, three industries including agro based companies and a beverage manufacturer have invested in the state. These three industries have taken up industrial land at Mohasa Babai and together these industries have proposed to invest around Rs 685 crore in the state,” said a senior official from MPIDC wishing anonymity.
Industrial areas developed in Bhopal, Gwalior, Jabalpur and in the eastern part of the state were showcased to industries in the recent visits, said officials.
“The top preference is Indore and nearby, but land availability has reduced there and now the focus of the state govt is to lure investments across different industrial corridors in the state,” said the official.
