Minor girl mauled to death by leopard in J&K's Udhampur

JAMMU: A 4-year-old girl was killed by a leopard in Narore area in remote village of Udhampur district in Jammu and Kashmir on Saturday evening.
"The incident occurred late Saturday evening, when the girl went outside her house to throw dirty water", police sources said.
"Her half-eaten body was recovered from the nearby forest by search parties in the early hours of Sunday", the said.
Meanwhile the wildlife protection department has laid traps at different places in the forest to capture the leopard, the police sources said.
According to Ganesh Kumar, father of the girl, at around 7-7:30pm, a leopard took away his daughter when she had gone outside to throw water.
He added that the Wild Life Deptt was informed immediately after that it rushed to the spot and launched a search operation and her mauled body was recovered some two kilometres away from the house.
