N Chandrababu Naidu to A Revanth Reddy: Let's talk it out
HYDERABAD: Andhra Pradesh chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu on Monday wrote to Telangana counterpart A Revanth Reddy and sought a face-to-face meeting at the latter’s place in Hyderabad on July 6 to amicably address issues arising out of AP State Reorganisation Act.
The letter from Naidu comes 25 days after CM Revanth called him on phone on June 6, offering cooperation to resolve pending issues between the two states.
Revanth had said this while congratulating Naidu for the landslide victory of the TDP alliance in AP assembly elections. BJP and Jana Sena are the two alliance partners of the TDP in AP.
Political observers said the meeting between the two CMs has the potential to usher in positive political relations as well as solutions to many issues.
At least 14 issues are pending between the two states, including power dues that they owe each other; bifurcation of 91 institutions and di vision of cash balance and bank deposits since AP was bifurcated to create Telangana on June 2, 2014.
Revanth was earlier a TDP MLA from Kodangal (2009 and 2014) and had served as working president of TDP under the leadership of Naidu in the combined state.
He was considered to be a close confidant of Naidu and had met him in Vijayawada before resigning from TDP to join the Congress in October 2017. In his letter to Revanth, Naidu stated, “It has been 10 years since bifurcation... It is imperative that we address these issues amicably with utmost diligence.”

“In light of this, I propose that we meet at your place on July 6 afternoon. I firmly believe that a face-to-face meeting will provide us with the opportunity to engage comprehensively on these critical issues and collaborate effectively towards achieving mutually beneficial solutions for Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. I am confident our deliberations will lead to productive outcomes,” he said.
The AP CM also extended his heartfelt congratula tions to CM Revanth-led Congress govt on the work being done by it in the state.
“Your dedication and leadership have significantly contributed to the progress and development of Telangana,” he stated.
Naidu further added: “As chief ministers of Teluguspeaking states, it is incumbent upon us to foster close collaboration to ensure sustained progress and prosperity for both AP and Telangana. Our shared commitment is crucial to realising our mutual goals of growth and well-being.”
