AIYF too directly blames Kerala CM Pinarayi Vijayan for LDF poll debacle
KOCHI: A report presented at the state-level meeting of All India Youth Federation (AIYF), the youth wing of CPI, has severely criticised CM Pinarayi Vijayan, blaming him for the poor performance of LDF in the Lok Sabha elections.
The report, presented at the two-day state-level workshop of the federation which began at Kumily on Saturday, criticised the autocratic style of functioning of Vijayan and stated that it led to anti-Left sentiments among the voters in a big way.
Highlighting the controversial “life-saving intervention” comment by the CM to justify the violence unleashed by CPM workers and police during Nava Kerala Sadas, the report said that the CM himself tarnished the people-friendly image of LDF govt.
The district council meeting of CPI, which concluded last week, had also raised severe criticism against the CM.
Most of the 55 council members of the district committee had criticised Vijayan’s behaviour, which they claimed had generated public resentment against govt during the LS polls.
Failure to disburse social security pensions caused protests: AIYF
Even when the state is successfully implementing the best governance models and development and welfare activities in the country in various fields, the Left front and the parties which are part of the front should examine the reasons and the circumstances that led to the defeat. The fact that BJP has managed to win one seat from Kerala is a matter of great concern,” the AIYF report said.
The failure to disburse social security pensions had caused protests at the grassroots level of society. Non-payment of dues from govt and the unavailability of subsidised products in the markethave also fuelled LDF’s setback in the election. Though Kerala PSC has the highest average in India in the number of appointments, govt’s decisions on some rank lists have created a lot of dissension among the youth and negatively influenced the election results ofLeft candidates to some extent, the report further said.
The lackadaisical approach of govt in the distribution of salaries to KSRTC employees and the suspension of stipends for Scheduled Caste students for months have also created anti-govt sentiment even among Left-leaning people, it said.
The report also strongly criticised Congress for the BJP’s victory in Thrissur LS segment. “The victory of the BJP candidate in Thrissur makes it clear that Congress party leadership in Kerala does not have a serious thought about the fascist threat facing the country or a practical alternative to counter it in the current situation,” it points out.

As a prabuddha kit nakkee mallu communist we will come back strongly and become international beggars for loans from all and sundry. My heart fills with pride on seeing all these hardworking & intelligent mallus, whom we consistently drive out of the state, working hard outside and sending money home, which we still get to loot and mismanage. All the remaining Mallu youngsters will be converted to useless commie riff raffs. Let Bihari labourers come to Kerala, work hard earn money and benefit their state and community. No self respecting commie mallu youngster should work hard. After the hard working has gone to gulf and the intelligent to US australia EU etc, the riff raff left behind should spend the money hard earned by their relatives abroad, basically doing broker jobs, commission jobs and getting drunk.Read allPost comment
