Brutal summer slam continues, days are hot and nights warm

Lucknow is experiencing the highest number of days with 'heat or severe wave' conditions in at least the last six years. The maximum temperature reached 45.3 degrees Celsius on Tuesday, with no relief predicted till Friday by the weather office.

LUCKNOW: While there was no relief from the scorching weather on Tuesday, the number of days with “heat or severe wave” conditions this summer has been the highest in the city in at least last six years. And the weather office has predicted no relief till Friday (June 21).
The maximum temperature on Tuesday was 45.3 degrees Celsius, 7.3 notches above normal.
Night was also warm with the minimum temperature 32.6 degrees Celsius, 5.6 units above normal.
The maximum temperature on Monday was 46 degrees Celsius, eight degrees above normal — the highest in last 10 years in the month of June after 46.3 degrees Celsius, recorded on June 6, 2014.
This year, UP, including Lucknow, has been reeling under record-breaking heat. Barring a few days, maximum temperatures have been continuously above 40 degrees since May 14.
Orai hottest in country
UP cities continued to be the hottest places in the country. According to IMD, Orai was the hottest place in the country with maximum temperature of 46.4 degrees Celsius. For the past eight days, Prayagraj and Kanpur IAF had been at the top. Kanpur IAF recorded 46.3 degrees Celsius, Aligarh (45.4), Jhansi (45.3), Agra and Kanpur City (45.2 each), Fatehgarh (45.1), Ayodhya and Bahraich (45 each), Varanasi (42.8) and Prayagraj (42.5)
