PRD jawans assault differently-abled man on tricycle in UP's Deoria, video goes viral

LUCKNOW: A video of a differently-abled man riding a tricycle and being assaulted by cops went viral on social media platforms.
Hours after its circulation, senior police officers took cognizance of the incident and ordered a probe.
Sankalp Sharma, superintendent of police, Deoria, said that the cops spotted in the video belong to Prantiya Rakshak Dal (PRD).
"As of now, an FIR is being registered against the two PRD jawans and a probe by a senior officer has been lodged in the case," he said.
Deoria SP said that they have written to the department concerned for initiating action against the two errant jawans.
Uttar Pradesh has a separate department of youth welfare & Prantiya Rakshak Dal (PRD), which oversees the working of the security force.
