LUCKNOW: Young students showcased their intricate designing skills at the exhibition- ‘Design Showcase 2024’- organised at State Lalit Kala Akademi in collaboration with Banasthali Vidyapith Women’s University on Sunday.
Inaugurated by renowned fashion designer Asma Husain, architect Sandeep Kumar Saraswat and director of SLKA Shraddha Shukla, the exhibition featured 75 artworks and designs from fashion and lifestyle, architecture and visual arts made by students of Banasthali Vidyapith Women’s University.
One of the students, Medha Tiwari (20), whose design was on display, said, “This is a big platform for us where we are able to show what we have learnt in our institution.”
“Visitors and students to the exhibition are not only appreciating the displayed work, but also getting to know about the different types of designing. Akola print scarves, moonj grass baskets, chikankari, katha rabari work made on cotton fabric panels and sculptures made from plaster of paris are displayed in the exhibition,” said another student, Nitya Kumari (20). The exhibition will be open on May 6 from 10:30am to 6pm.
