Mumbai Congress leader Baba Siddique quits party, may join Ajit Pawar’s NCP

MUMBAI: Former Congress minister Baba Siddique resigned from the Congress on Thursday.
Siddique, a three-time former MLA from Bandra (West) said in a post on X that he was resigning from the primary membership of the Indian National Congress (INC).
Baba Siddique’s son Zeeshan is a Congress MLA from Bandra (East).
According to sources, Baba is set to join the Ajit Pawar-led NCP at an event in Bandra soon.


“I joined the Indian National Congress party as a young teenager and it has been a significant journey lasting 48 years. Today I resign from the primary membership of the Indian National Congress party with immediate effect. There’s a lot I would have liked to express but as they say some things are better left unsaid. I thank everyone who has been a part of this journey,” Siddique said in a post on X.
