Roadside tree came crashing down on Rajawadi Road Number 7 in Ghatkopar East
MUMBAI: On Sunday morning, a roadside tree came crashing down on Rajawadi Road Number 7 in Ghatkopar East, injuring one person.
The injured person identified as 55-year-old auto rickshaw driver Brijesh Kumar Yadav, was rushed to the civic-run Rajawadi Hospital for treatment. He was checked and treated by the doctor on duty, and his condition was stable.
Yadav refused further treatment and went home.
The incident affected traffic on the road, which had to be cleared. A danger tape was provided, and some portions of the footpath and road were damaged. Civic sources stated that the tree crashed due to gusty winds and a shallow root system.
This is the fourth major tree crash incident in the past week. In two of the previous incidents reported on July 1 and 2, two people had died after trees fell on them. In the third incident on July 5, two vehicles were damaged in Dadar's Kabutarkhana following a tree crash
