IndiGo receives hoax bomb msg for its Chennai-Mum flight

MUMBAI: A bomb threat message was received for an IndiGo flight from Chennai to Mumbai on Tuesday.
The bomb threat call for flight 6E 5149 was received at the Indigo call centre in Delhi, said a source. “The threat was termed specific. The flight landed in Mumbai around 10:30pm,” the source added.
An IndiGo spokesperson confirmed the bomb threat to the said flight .
“Upon landing in Mumbai, the crew followed protocol and the aircraft was taken to an isolation bay. All passengers have safely disembarked the aircraft. We are working with the security agencies and post completion of all security checks, the aircraft will be positioned back in the terminal area,” said the IndiGo spokesperson.
According to media reports, many airports, including Chennai, Coimbatore, Patna, Vadodara and Jaipur, received bomb warnings via emails on Tuesday and all were found to be hoax.
