Central Railway's Mumbai division will operate a megablock on its suburban sections today to carry out various engineering and maintenance works.
MUMBAI: Central Railway, Mumbai division will operate megablock on its suburban sections for carrying out various engineering and maintenance works today and this could inconvenience commuters. The rail block is being carried out on 5th and 6th lines between Thane and Diva from 10.50 am to 03.20 pm.
The Up fast/Semi fast Locals from Ambernath Local (Kalyan Dep.
10.28 am) to Badlapur Local (Kalyan Dep. 03.17 pm) will be diverted on Up Slow Line between Kalyan and Thane stations and will halt at Diva, Mumbra and Kalwa stations in addition to their respective scheduled halts and will further be re-diverted on fast track at Thane station. Trains will therefore arrive at destination 10 mins late. The block will also lead to diversion of 13 Up and 5 Down Mail/Express trains.
There will be a rail block between Kurla and Vashi stations on Harbour line from 11.10 am to 4.10 pm. Special suburban trains will run on CSMT Mumbai – Kurla & Panvel – Vashi sections during the block period. Passengers are permitted to travel between Thane-Vashi/Nerul stations till 6 pm.
Central Railway outstation trains hit due to waterlogging, OHE incident between Vasind & Khadavli stations
Long distance train services have been badly hit due to heavy rains overnight and waterlogging between Vasind and Khadavli stations on Central Railway. Divisional Railway Manager (CR) Rajnish Goyal announced that the previously announced Sunday megablock between Diva and Thane stations was cancelled.
As per the engineering control room of Central Railway, due to heavy rainfall overnight, the OHE pole was tilted between Vasind-Khadavli. "Restoration work is in progress", tweeted Goyal on X.

Central Railway chief spokesperson Swapnil Nila said : “Due to heavy rains train services between Kalyan and Kasara are disrupted. Kalyan to Kasara has been made safe with restricted speed. Work in progress for restoring Kasara to CSMT movement.”
Igatpuri-Bhusaval train is cancelled due to waterlogging between Vasind - Khadavli section, an official said. Jalna to CSMT Vande Bharat Express was short-terminated at Igatpuri while 20706 CSMT - Jalna Vande Bharat Express was impacted as well.
At least 11 long distance trains have been diverted due to waterlogging between Vashi and Khadavli section, an official added.
“Due to heavy rain at 5.30 am, soil came on the tracks on the Down line and engineering control declared the track unsafe at 6.20 am,” an official said, adding that services on the section was stopped thereafter.
Divisional Railway Manager (CR) Rajnish Goyal announced that the megablock between Diva and Thane is now cancelled. Restoration work is in progress, he said.
No rail blocks on Western Railway suburban today; relief to commuters

There will be no Day block today on the Western Railway (WR) suburban section between Churchgate and Virar today, an official said. This will come as a relief to commuters travelling by WR suburban trains.
"To carry out maintenance work of tracks, signaling and overhead equipment, a jumbo block of four hours was taken on slow lines from 12.15 am to 4.15 am on Sunday between Vasai Road and Virar station. The block was successfully completed early Sunday morning," an official said.
