Palghar man held as teen pregnant ‘wife’ dies of complications
MUMBAI: A 21-year-old tribal from Palghar was arrested under the Pocso Act after his 16-year-old pregnant ‘wife’ died of complications at a hospital on June 8.
In addition to the man, the minor’s parents, in-laws, the priest who solemnised the ‘marriage’, and the caterer have been charged under the Prevention of Child Marriage Act. The police are questioning villagers for failing to report the minor’s marriage to them.
