Nagpur: The MahaGenco Inter-Power Station Theatre Competition concluded on Saturday with a powerful performance by the Khaparkheda Thermal Power Station near Nagpur. Their play ‘Purna Viram’ (Full Stop), was the final act in a competition that saw nine teams from across Maharashtra showcase their talents.
The theatre competition, held at Scientific Society Hall in Laxmi Nagar, witnessed a variety of themes explored throughout the week.
On the concluding day, the Mahagenco Headquarters team from Mumbai presented a thought-provoking Marathi play titled ‘Tiche Sandarbh Nasleli Gosht.
This play tackled the challenges of feminism, following a woman’s journey as she strives to break free from societal expectations and forge her own path. However, the play also explores the sacrifices she makes in pursuit of her goals. Written by Rahul Shende with a concept by Rajan Khan and directed by Jyoti Hankare, the play resonated with the audience.
The evening session saw Khaparkheda station present ‘Purna Viram’, a poignant story about an artist named Manohar and the two women in his life.
Manohar, a dedicated painter constantly seeking innovation, struggles to connect with his wife Anita, whose desires for a traditional marriage remain unfulfilled. Meanwhile, Madhavi, a writer and Manohar’s confidante, offers him a different kind of understanding. As Manohar grapples with cancer, the play delves into the complexities of love, loss, and artistic expression.
Written by Irfan Muzawar and directed by Mahendra drama ‘Purna Viram’ leaves a lasting impression on the audience.
