Car ploughs into ice-cream cart, vendor (30) injured
Noida: A 30-year-old ice cream cart vendor was critically injured when a speeding car hit him from behind while he was returning home in Sector 24 on Sunday.
According to police officials, Golu Kumar is from Bihar and lives in Morna, Sector 35.
“The passersby caught the accused, Vishal Yadav soon after the accident. Subsequently, Golu was taken to a nearby hospital and he is in critical condition,” said SHO Dhruv Bhushan Dubey.
A case under IPC Section 279 (rash driving), and other relevant sections was registered against the accused, officials said.
In a separate incident, a two-year-old boy died after being hit by a speeding loading auto in the same sector on Saturday afternoon. The boy’s family members and locals protested on Sunday, demanding the arrest of the auto driver.
On Saturday, at 3 pm, Abhi Gupta had gone to a nearby grocery shop to buy a biscuit packet when a speeding loading auto hit him from behind, injuring him severly. Subsequently, the passersby rushed him to a nearby hospital, but Abhi died during the treatment, officials said.
“A case under Section 304A (causing death by negligence) of the IPC has been registered against the unidentified driver,” said SHO Dubey.
