NOIDA: A 48-year-old music teacher was arrested on Thursday morning allegedly for sexually harassing a 10-year-old
girl. The accused would go to her house to provide lessons, police said.
According to additional DCP (Central Noida) Hirdesh Katheriya, the accused is a resident of Turkman Gate in Delhi. The girl’s parents had hired him to tutor their daughter around three months ago.
In the police complaint, the parents said that the girl’s mother had caught her watching an inappropriate video on a laptop on Tuesday evening.
“When asked, the girl informed her mother that her music teacher had showed her many such videos and also touched her inappropriately in the past. Following this, the parents submitted a written complaint,” the ADCP said.
An FIR was subsequently registered against the accused under Section 75 (2) (sexual harassment) of Bhartiya Nyay Sanhita (BNS) and relevant sections of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (Pocso) Act at Phase-3 police station. “On Thursday morning, the accused was arrested from Sector 59 metro station,” the officer added.
