Patients raise concerns at health centre canteen
Noida: Patients admitted at Bhangel Community Health Centre (CHC) say they are forced to get food from home as the canteen, operating under the Janani Suraksha Yojana (JSY) of the National Health Mission (NHM), remains closed for the majority of the day.
The CHC superintendent has submitted a complaint letter to the chief development officer (CDO) and the chief medical officer (CMO), stating, “The Prerna Canteen has failed to provide appropriate diets to patients under the JSY Scheme, despite specific instructions to do so.
This negligence is concerning, as it directly affects the health and well-being of postnatal patients." The CDO stated that investigations are underway.
The superintendent's official letter further mentioned, “When confronted about these lapses and asked to rectify the situation, the canteen owner and her husband not only denied the claims but also resorted to threatening behaviour.”
In response, Janardhan Singh, Noida CDO, told TOI, “An investigation has been lodged under the block development officer (BDO). After further investigation, a decision will be taken.”
“Further action will be taken as per the order of the Chief Development Officer,” said Sunil Sharma, Noida CMO.
