Ex-armyman gunned down in Bihar, two 'killers' lynched
SASARAM: Two men trying to flee after allegedly gunning down an ex-armyman in a Rohtas village on Wednesday were lynched by a mob. A third alleged assailant, Amit Kumar, was also badly thrashed and is in Sasaram's Sadar Hospital.
The incident took place at Kalayani village of Rohtas district. The deceased ex-armyman was identified as Bijendra Singh. The two men lynched were identified as Mithilesh Kumar and Aditya Kumar.
A villager, Ankit Kumar, was shot and injured by one of the assailants when they were caught by the villagers.
Additional police forces have been deployed in the area as a precautionary measure.
According to a state police headquarters communique, Mithilesh was from Jamtola village, in Piro police station area of Bhojpur district, as is Ajit, while Aditya was from Korma, under Jagdishpur police station area in Bhojpur.
The villagers said the ex-serviceman, a former mukhiya candidate, was murdered at around 9 am while he was monitoring construction work at his upcoming two-wheeler showroom. The three motorcycle-borne criminals arrived there shot him dead on the spot.
Previous enmity is stated to be behind the murder of the ex-armyman, Bijendra Singh.
