Hoax bomb threat at Patna airport
Patna: Following a bomb threat received through email on Tuesday, security was tightened at Jaya Prakash Narayan International Airport.
Search operations were conducted by the district police and the security agencies, but no suspicious object was recovered. The officials later declared the bomb threat as hoax.
Patna airport director, Anchal Prakash said, “A bomb threat was received at Jayaprakash Narayan International Airport along with 41 other airports across the country around 1.10pm.
The Bomb Threat Assessment Committee (BTAC) meeting was convened soon, but the threat was found to be hoax.”
City SP, Central, Chandra Prakash said an FIR was registered at the Cyber police station in this regard.
The dog and bomb squad also inspected the airport. Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) jawans minutely scanned all the entry and exit points of the airport. “Every activity inside the airport, its premises and the surrounding areas are being monitored by the police and the security agencies,” he added.
