Wife, brother-in-law arrested for killing man over alleged sexual intentions towards daughter in Gujarat's Morbi

RAJKOT: A man was killed by his wife and brother-in-law in Maliya Miyana village, Morbi district, after it was discovered that he was looking at his daughter with sexual intention. The deceased, Haji Movar (55), was found dead on the banks of the Macchu River. His wife, Sherbano, and brother-in-law, Imran Khod, have been detained following a police complaint by Movar’s son, Sahil.
Movar’s body was discovered on July 3, with a dupatta wrapped around his neck and tied to his motorcycle.The body was initially taken to Morbi civil hospital for a post-mortem. Doctors suspected murder and transferred the body to Rajkot civil hospital for a forensic post-mortem, which confirmed strangulation. Police investigations then pointed to Sherbano's involvement.
During the interrogation, Sherbano broke down and confessed to her crime.
"She was fed up with the sexual intentions of her husband towards her daughter. She mixed sleeping pills in Movar's food and served him dinner. When he went unconscious, she strangled him with her dupatta," said a police officer.
To dispose of the body, Sherbano sought the help of her brother, Imran. He brought his auto to transport the body and tried to make the death look like a suicide by tying one end of the dupatta to Movar’s motorcycle and the other around his neck, then disposing of the body in the river.
Sahil, Movar’s son, reported to the police that his mother had been disturbed by his father’s behavior towards his sister, which led her to this drastic decision.
