NEW DELHI: A multi-story building collapsed in
Jharkhand's Deoghar district on Sunday.
This incident follows another building collapse in Gujarat's Surat on Saturday, which resulted in seven fatalities.
The district administration has deployed the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) along with other rescue teams to the site
Deoghar deputy commissioner Vishal Sagar informed that the people trapped during the collapse of the multi-storey building are being rescued by the team of NDRF, Health Department and Police since early morning.
Sub-divisional Police Officer (SDPO) Ritvik Srivastava told PTI, "Four people have been rescued so far. Few more seem to be still trapped under the debris. The rescue operation is underway."
One woman has been pulled out from the debris since morning and has been referred to the nearby area by ambulance for better treatment.
As of now, there is no information on any casualties, as the administration is still working on clearing the debris.
