KALYAN: Members of Shiv Sena's Eknath Shinde and UBT factions staged a protest called Ghanta Naad Andolan, in front of Durgadi fort in Kalyan on Tuesday.
The Durgadi fort has worship places for both Hindu and Muslims. On the day of Bakri Eid, Muslims in large numbers offers prayers at Idgah side portion hence on this day Hindu devotees are prohibited on Eid from entering Durga temple situated on front side of fort to avoid any problems.
On this Bakrid day for since 1982 Shiv Sena organises Ghanta naad andolan since they are not allowed for worship at this time on order by Thane collector.

During protest both parties Shiv Sainiks tried to cross police's barricades installed near Fort to go to temple to make worship but was not allowed by police.
The Shiv Sena's protest was led by Thane District President Gopal Landge and other senior leaders like Ravi Patil and Mahesh Gaikwad while Uddhav led Shiv Sena's protest was led by Up Neta Vijay Salvi and Kalyan city president Sachin Basare.
However at this time both Shiv Sena who has got divided were seen also targeting each others over protest.
The deputy leader of Shiv Sena, Vijay Salvi, taking a dig at Shiv Sena, said that Anand Dighe started this Ghanta Naad movement in 1982 after which Chief Minister Eknath Shinde himself represented this andolan for many years, but today he himself is the Chief Minister of State, despite that, his administration banning entry of devotees which shows their duplicate Hindutva.
Meanwhile Gopal Landge, Thane District President of Shiv Sena responding over Salvi's reaction said that the saffron flag does not suit in those hands who are painted in green and we condemn such people. Landge said, "The Durgadi fort case is pending in Thane and Mumbai High Court and we are confident that we will win case in court".
