T'PURAM: Museum police arrested two men for attacking a traffic police officer who was on duty at Manaveeyam Veedhi. The arrested are Balu N K, 37, and Anil Kumar, 41, both from Kulathummal.
According to police, the incident took place on Thursday night. The accused who came on a two-wheeler parked the vehicle on the roadside. The officer asked them to move the vehicle from the 'no parking' area and took a photo of the vehicle.
The accused then had a heated exchange with the officer and proceeded to physically assault him.
The accused was taken into custody after the officer informed the higher officials of the assault. Ever since Manaveeyam Veedhi was upgraded to a nightlife destination, there have been instances of skirmishes, clashes, and violence.
