ACB DIG’s son hit by speeding Audi
Udaipur: The 23-year-old son of Rajendra Goyal, DIG of ACB, was among two persons seriously injured in a hit-and-run case in Udaipur Sunday night. The accident took place on Ring Road near Mali Colony. SHO Surajpol police station Sunil Charan said a black Audi driven at an estimated speed of 100km per hour became airborne after hitting a speed breaker. The car after hitting a bike rider collided with four handcarts and five two-wheelers parked on the roadside.
Utkarsh Goyal (23), son of Rajendra Goyal, and a motorbike rider, Bhagwati Lal, received serious injuries.
Utkarsh had come to buy fruits and was standing near the fruit cart. Street vendors had a narrow escape by fleeing as the car approached. The collision left the carts destroyed, bikes damaged, and fruits scattered across the road.
The injured were rushed to MB Hospital by passersby. DIG Goyal, along with Udaipur Collector Arvind Poswal and SP Yogesh Goyal, reached the hospital late at night. According to eyewitnesses, there were three persons in the car at the time of the accident. The police, suspecting the driver was under the influence of alcohol, have launched a search for him and are reviewing nearby CCTV footage for further evidence.tnn
