What’s Chandan Sen up to on his b’day today?

It’s Chandan Sen’s birthday and the actor-director has decided to spend the evening with his friends from the theatre group, Natyaanan. Chandan, who plays a pivotal role, Bhajan, in popular television serial, Khorkuto, is off from shooting on his birthday.
“I’ll meet my theatre group friends in the evening. They plan my birthday and celebrate it. While it’s embarrassing for me a little, I totally appreciate their affection,” said Chandan.
After the celebration, Chandan has planned to get back to work. He, along with his theatre comrades, have been trying to stage their proscenium productions outdoors. “We are calling it Theatre In Park. To reach out to more and more people, we are taking our plays outdoors and the people are paying as much as they can. We are erecting poles to create the right light and do the stage as close as our proscenium production. We are particularly doing it with two of our important productions, Juganayak and A-Pabitra. It is important that we reach out to more and more people with an alternative liberal narrative in the middle of this ongoing socio-political confusion,” Chandan told us.
While Juganayak features Chandan’s old mate Shantilal Mukherjee in the lead, A-Pabitra features Sabyasachi Chakrabarty and Asit Basu in prominent roles.
