‘Rhythm and music keep me grounded’
For fashion entrepreneur Barnini Chakraborty, music doesn’t belong to her, but ‘she belongs to music’.
“I’ve been into classical vocals since I was three years old. Music kept me grounded,” says Barnini, adding how after a hectic work day, she is always up for a performance for loved ones as music fuels her. “Music is how I fight negative energy around me,” she says.

‘Music makes me a better doctor’
“My love for music is inherent. I’ve grown up with a passion for music, picking it up from homely addas and later in school and college fests the microphone never eluded me and vice versa,” says Dr Suman Mitra. He is a part of a band of doctors and says that he jams with his students too. “Music gives me strength,” he exclaims.

‘Our musical addas are open to all’
Entrepreneur by day but a music enthusiast always, Rubesh Sircar, who runs a stationery business believes in the unifying power of music. “Music brings happiness to me. I try to host music addas on Sunday afternoons where people can come and we can have a good jamming session where language is not a barrier,” said Sircar, adding, “Our music adda sessions have been growing in size with more participants joining in every week.”
