The well-known TV chef who enthralled Mumbaikars in a masterclass recently, chatted about his love for Indian cuisine.

Gary Mehigan, the charming judge from a cooking show on TV, recently hosted a masterclass at a hotel at Worli. Naturally, the city’s food-loving crowd was delighted to be part of it.
The event started at 12 pm. As part of the masterclass, Gary first explained the ingredients he would be using as he made four courses, where each dish was sourced from, and more. Speaking about his visit to India, Gary said, “This is my eight visit to India and I really enjoy Indian cuisine.
My recent favourites being the kulcha and tandoori chicken. The taste and the flavours of tandoori chicken are out of the world and the texture of the kulcha is simply mind blowing.”
He added, “Indian chefs are doing exciting things and they have a brilliant audience that is open to experimenting with innovative cuisine and also learn more about regional cuisine across India. South Australian, Indian and Vietnamese are my top favourite cuisine ”

Participants learned his tips and food techniques as well. In one technique on fish, the Australian chef explained why he was cutting the fish a certain way. In another course, he spoke on why he prepared prawns at a certain temperature. He also demonstrated a variety of dishes using fresh produce from Adelaide and surrounding regions like Barossa and Kangaroo Island. Gary even spoke about his love for South Australian cuisine and gave attendees a sneak-peak into some of his favourite dining experiences there.
Gary was at his charismatic best and wowed the audience, and they also asked him questions in an interactive session. The foodie event concluded by 2 pm, post tastings, after which a few people went up and chatted him and did a round of pictures.
