Anjali Barot on her debut film 'Chabutro': I feel absolutely ecstatic - Exclusive!

The upcoming Gujarati movie 'Chabutro' is gaining fans' attention as the makers recently released its official poster. Interestingly Anjali Barot, is making her acting debut with this movie opposite Raunaq Kamdar. ETimes contacted Anjali and she said, "I feel absolutely ecstatic about my debut in the Gujarati film industry and what better than a rom-com that is sure to leave you smiling?."
"Being a true Gujju at heart, I’ve always been inclined to work in Gujarati films and that’s what paved the way for me.
'Chabutro' came my way after Scam 1992 and I was filming this alongside Shoorveer. I’ve always believed in being a part of stories that strike a chord no matter the language or region and I’m truly open to exploring films be it Gujarati, Punjabi, or even South cinema," she adds.
Talking about her character, the actress revealed, "My character in the film is an ambitious architecture student who is committed to preserving the old heritage city of Ahmedabad. Somehow her paths intertwine with that of Viraj essayed by Raunaq and a fun journey unfolds. It was an absolute delight working with Raunaq Kamdar and director Chanakya Patel. Raunaq is a buddy and literally inducted me into this space along with the director whose calmness I truly admire."
Since 'Chabutro' is her first film, it is surely close to her heart. "First is always special and 'Chabutro' will always be a film close to my heart. There’s a lot of excitement and love coming in for the poster and with Navratri around the corner I look forward to dancing my way through the release on November 4," she expressed.
