Fans have eagerly awaited the sequel to Ajay Devgn's hit film 'Raid' since it was announced. The actor will team up again with Ashish Gokhale, who plays a police officer. In a recent interview, Ashish revealed that 'Raid 2' is also inspired by a real incident.
Ashish revealed that 'Raid 2' is quite different from the first film and promised it would be more engaging.
Talking to News18, Gokhale said that he cannot reveal much about it as of now. The basis of the story is ‘Raid’ only in the sequel, but these raids are completely different from what people saw in the first part of the film. Whatever people saw there, 'Raid 2' is different. It is more engaging, too. This is also based on the real incident.
Gokhale further added that the film's team has almost finished the film. Around 75 percent of the shooting has been done. They should wrap up the shoot for this film by the end of May.
Ashish Gokhale also mentioned that 'Raid 2' isn't his first film with Ajay Devgn. The duo previously collaborated on 'Bholaa' and the recently released 'Shaitaan'. Reflecting on their working relationship, the actor complimented Devgn, describing him as a humble and kind individual.
Gokhale stated that he did 'Bholaa' with Ajay. He was so friendly from day one. He is very down-to-earth and a humble guy. When he did 'Bholaa', he never thought that he would be able to work with him on another two films, but he always thought, ‘If I ever get another chance to work with him, it will be good‘.
'Raid', released in 2018, features Ajay Devgn, Ileana D'Cruz, and Saurabh Shukla in key roles. Devgn portrays Amar Patnaik, a senior income tax officer who raids the residence of a powerful politician in Lucknow. The film was widely loved and received positive reviews.
'Raid 2' is scheduled to release in theaters on November 15, 2024.
