Annu Kapoor's film 'Hamare Baarah' was in trouble as the Muslim community had objected to it. The matter was in the High Court and there was a stay order on the movie. However, the stay order on the movie has now been lifted. The court has stated that, they did not find any content in the movie which is 'objectionable to the Quran', the Muslim community or women.
It does not even have any violence.
The court has now given a clean chit to the movie. A division bench of Justice BP Colabawalla and Justice Firdosh Pooniwalla passed the order. The makers agreed to remove a dialogue and a Quranic verse, and put two disclaimers of 12 seconds each in the film. The HC has allowed the film's release only after the makers agreed to remove the controversial dialogue from the movie, which was instructed by the CBFC. The court stated, "The movie is in fact for the upliftment of women. The movie has a Maulana misinterpreting the Quran and in fact one Muslim man objects to the same in the scene. So this shows that people should apply their mind and not blindly follow such Maulanas."
The movie is in fact for the upliftment of women, stated the court, however the HC did agree to the fact that the trailer was objectionable and has imposed a penalty on the makers to release the film's trailer without any certification from the CBFC (Central Board Of Film Certification). Also, the makers have removed all the objectionable content and scenes, dialogues before releasing the film.
