Karan Johar's last directorial, 'Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani' not only did well at the box office but got critical acclaim as well. The film had its moments which became memorable for people. One such scene was when Rocky and Rani (Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt) go to live at each other's house and Diljit Dosanjh's 'Lover' plays in the background.
Diljit recently revealed that he told Karan to use his song but didn't charge any money for it.
Diljit added that if he's worked with someone and they need something, he will always be there to help. The actor-singer told Sucharita Tyagi, "I am not friends with anyone as such. If I have worked with someone once and they need something, if I can’t help them then what is the point? If I was a doctor then I would have done his surgery for free (laughs).”
He further added that Karan also tried to give him money. He added, “Woh mereko paise de dete, main kitna ameer ho jata? Unke chalo mann mein aaya yeh achi baat hai. Lekin unko bhi paise ki kami nahi hai aur mujhe bhi koi aisi zyada zarurat nahi hai toh isliye maine kaha ki aap le lo, use kar lo, koi baat nahi (If he paid me, how much richer would I have gotten? He thought about it, that’s a good thing. But he isn’t short of money and I also don’t need much so I said take it, use it.)”
Diljit said all that matters is that what can one do for someone that they already know! "There is nothing like I gave it for free. If one of my music producer friends does a song for me, then I sing a song for them."
The 'Udta Punjab' actor recently won the internet as he performed at the Jimmy Fallon show.
