Saif Ali Khan Bollywood movie Chef is receiving rave reviews from the movies buffs across the world and Malayalis too are feeling really proud about it. Ask them the reason and they would tell you that the film has a lot to do with God's Own Country.
From its director Raja Krishna Menon being a Malayali to its female protagonist being Padmapriya, the movie has too many Kerala connection.
One among them is actor Dinesh Prabhakar who shot to fame through his performance in 1983.
Dinesh who is elated about the success of his third Bollywood outing, is extremely elated about the positive response from the audience. "I feel really happy. Chef is an enjoyable, feelgood movie and people are relating and connecting with it," he says after joining Saif and team to watch its preview in Mumbai.
Dinesh had earlier acted in Bollywood movies - Madras Cafe and Waiting. "My previous films had me playing cameos and in Chef I have an extensive role. The film revolves around a road trip set out by a chef, his son, an assistant and me. I am the driver of the truck and is an ex-military. my character's name is Alex Umman and he is a South Indian," explains Dinesh.
Chef revolves around the life of a chef enacted by Saif Ali Khan and his relationship with his son. How the chef and his family try to overcome their strained relations over food is the storyline of the film. It stars Svar Kamble as Saif Ali Khan’s son and Padmapriya as his estranged wife.
