It’s a well-known fact that Kamal Haasan and daughter Shruti teamed up for the trilingual comedy film ‘Sabash Naidu’, which was formally announced in 2016. After filming for months, the shooting came to a halt after Kamal Haasan suffered the fracture at his Chennai residence.
After recovering from the accident, Kamal went on to start his political party Makkal Needhi Maiam and has been busy with political commitments.
Since then, ‘Sabash Naidu’ has been in the limbo. However, Shruti Haasan has now assured fans that she would start shooting for ‘Sabash Naidu’ soon. In a recent interview, Shruti has clarified that the film is definitely on the cards.
A spin-off of the popular character Balram Naidu from ‘Dasavatharam’, ‘Sabash Naidu’ will be directed by Kamal Haasan himself. The film will mark Shruti’s first film with daddy Haasan, while Akshara Haasan will reportedly work as an assistant director. Also starring Ramya Krishnan, Brahmanandam, Saurabh Shukla and Radha Ravi in pivotal roles, ‘Sabash Naidu’ will have music by maestro Ilaiyaraaja.
Meanwhile, Kamal Haasan’s latest outing ‘Vishwaroopam 2’ has opened to mixed response from critics and audience alike. Despite high expectations, the film has turned out to be a damp squib at the box office.
