Vijay Sethupathi denies rejecting a role in Allu Arjun's 'Pushpa: The Rise'

Vijay Sethupathi’s latest bilingual film 'Maharaja' has been running successfully in theatres since June 14. The actor was seen interacting with media personnel as he celebrated the film's success in Telugu. During the press meet, Vijay Sethupathi was asked about reports that he had rejected a role in Alu Arjun’s ‘Pushpa: The Rise’. As usual, Sethupathi had a funny yet brave reply to this report.
The actor denied the reports and clarified that he did not reject the role. But after a pause, he added with a smile, “But you should not always speak the truth,” suggesting that sometimes lying can be beneficial, implying that speaking the truth isn't always favorable.
Earlier reports suggested that Vijay Sethupathi was offered a villain role in 'Pushpa: The Rise' but he turned it down. Fans speculated that it might have been for either Fahadh Fasil or Sunil’s role.
Vijay Sethupathi’s 50th film, 'Maharaja', also features filmmaker turned actor Anurag Kashyap, Mamta Mohandas, and others in key roles. It is directed by Nithilan Swaminathan.
On the work front, Sethupathi will be next seen in 'Ace', directed by Aarumugakumar. Rukmini Vasanth will play opposite Sethupathi in this film. He will also be appearing in 'Train' directed by Mysskin.
