Bombay' cinematographer Rajiv Menon, who was with Mani Ratnam and AR Rahman during the shooting of the song sequence, has revealed an emotional moment from the shooting. According to him, Mani Ratnam was supposed to film the 'Humma Humma' sequence, but AR Rahman didn't submit the song and instead surprised the director with the film's theme song. After listening to the theme song, Rajiv Menon and Mani Ratnam got emotional. The composer's soulful music made the two turn into tears. Rajiv Menon recalled the emotional moment in his latest interview with an online portal and explained how Mani Ratnam and the cinematographer worked day and night during the filming of 'Bombay'.
Directed by Mani Ratnam, 'Bombay' features Arvind Swamy and Manisha Koirala in lead roles, and the film's story is about a love story between a Hindu boy and a Muslim girl. The 1995 romantic drama was well-received both critically and commercially, and the film turned out to be one of the best love dramas in Tamil.
