Karnataka sex scandal case: Prajwal Revanna returns to country, arrested by SIT at Bengaluru airport
NEW DELHI: Suspended Hassan MP Prajwal Revanna, facing allegations of sexually abusing several women was arrested by the Special Investigation Team (SIT) in the early hours of Friday upon his arrival from Germany at the Kempegowda International Airport in Bengaluru.
The MP was taken into custody by the Central Industrial Security Forces (CISF) personnel immediately upon his arrival and later handed over to the Special Investigation Team (SIT).

A large number of police officers were deployed at the airport there to his safe transfer to the police station for investigation. The Police escorted him through a different exit, keeping in mind his security, officials said.
A court warrant was pending against him. The SIT took him under its custody after the formalities.
The MP had said in a video statement earlier this week that he would return on May 31 and appear before a Special Investigation Team (SIT) probing the case. Hesaid that his trip was pre-planned as there was no case against him when the voting was held in Karnataka on April 26 for the general elections. He also alleged political conspiracy against him as he was "growing in politics."
The 33-year-old Prajwal, who is the grandson of JD(S) patriarch and former PM HD Deve Gowda and is the NDA's candidate from the Hassan Lok Sabha segment, is facing charges of multiple instances of sexually abusing women.

Earlier on Wednesday, Prajwal filed an application for anticipatory bail as he was set to return to India. After his arrest it automatically became a regular bail plea and he will be produced before the court today.
The cases came to light after several explicit videos of sexual assault allegedly by Prajwal became public. Prajwal reportedly left for Germany on April 27, a day after Hassan went to polls.
