Terror attack in J&K: Security forces launch search operation after gunfire near army camp in Rajouri

NEW DELHI: An Army personnel sustained injuries during an early morning attack by terrorists on a territorial army sentry post in Galuthi village, located in the Manjakote area of Rajouri district, Jammu and Kashmir. The incident occurred at approximately 4 am on Sunday, news agency PTI reported, quoting official sources.
The terrorists engaged in a firefight with the troops manning the post, which lasted for about 30 minutes.
"The soldier was injured in the exchange of fire that continued for nearly half-an-hour between the two sides but the terrorists managed to flee into the nearby forest," officials said.
Following the attack, security forces initiated an extensive search operation in an effort to apprehend the terrorists who had escaped into the surrounding forest area.
"A few rounds of bullets were fired near an army camp in the Manjakot area of Rajouri. Search Operation has been launched," news agency ANI quoted Army officials.
Meanwhile, in two separate encounters in the Kulgam district of south Kashmir on Saturday, a total of four terrorists were eliminated, while two soldiers succumbed to their injuries sustained from gunshot wounds.
The deceased soldiers were identified as Lance Naik Pradeep Naik, who belonged to the Army's Para Commando unit and lost his life in the Modergam village, and Havildar Raj Kumar from 1 Rashtriya Rifles, who was killed in the Frisal Chinnigam area.
The two operations are still ongoing, as it is suspected that some more terrorists may be present at both locations
