RAIPUR: Two personnel from the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF)'s elite CoBRA battalion were killed and several others sustained injuries on Sunday when Maoist insurgents triggered an improvised explosive device (IED) blast targeting their vehicle near Silger, a village in the insurgency-affected Sukma district within the tribal Bastar region of Chhattisgarh.

Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Kamalochan Kashyap confirmed the incident and stated that detailed reports are still awaited. Preliminary information indicates that the Maoist rebels specifically targeted a vehicle transporting the CRPF personnel.
As the vehicle was navigating through the Silger area, the hidden IED detonated, resulting in the death of two CRPF personnel. The explosion also caused injuries to other personnel, who were promptly evacuated to a nearby medical facility for urgent treatment.
