01/8Alia Bhatt talks about the pressure to lose weight

Bollywood superstar Alia Bhatt was blessed with a baby girl Raha last November, with husband and actor Ranbir Kapoor. Now, the actor has resumed her yoga and fitness routine, including practicing aerial yoga. However, the actor acknowledges going at her own pace, amid the struggle most women face to lose weight post pregnancy.

“A lot of women struggle with their new appearance post pregnancy. They tend to put a lot of pressure on themselves to get back to looking a certain way. Everyone wants to lose weight and I can relate to that,” she told Bombay Times.

She added, “I love food, I love to eat and I had to lose weight because films are a visual medium and you need to look healthy. You have to look appealing. In today’s age, with every picture appearing on social media, girls even before pregnancy are constantly worried about how they look. Women should take a moment to appreciate their bodies.”

Blake Lively calls this pressure "absolutely absurd"
Blake Lively filmed the movie ‘The Shallows’ just months after having her first daughter, James in 2014. She needed two personal trainers and a nutritionist to get in shape.

"It's not normal to look like that eight months after having a kid," she told The Sun. She added that it is "absolutely absurd" for women to pressure themselves to look like a model right after giving birth.

Talking about celebrating your body for giving birth to another human being, she told the Australian magazine Sunrise, "I think a woman's body after having a baby is pretty amazing. You gave birth to a human being. So I would really like to see that celebrated."

Currently, Blake is pregnant with her fourth baby with actor and husband Ryan Reynolds.

Neha Dhupia says she doesn't owe anyone explanation
Neha Dhupia revealed in an interview that she had put on around “23-25 kilos,” when she was pregnant with her daughter Mehr. After Mehr’s birth in 2018, Neha was also heavily trolled and fat shamed for making public appearances in her new figure.

Responding to the trolls, Neha took to her Instagram handle and wrote, “I don’t owe anyone an explanation because fat shaming like this doesn’t bother me one bit. But I do want to address this as a larger problem because fat shaming needs to stop for EVERYONE, not just celebs. As a new mom I want to be fit, healthy and energetic for my daughter. So I work out everyday, sometimes twice a day because for me...’Fitness’ is a priority and not ‘fitting into’ society’s standards regarding looks. And I hope in the future people are kinder to each other while making such vapid and vile comments.”

Supporting his wife, actor Angad Bedi told Hindustan Times, “Those who fat-shame (her) I want to tell them that being happy has nothing to do with body weight but how one leads his or her life. Neha is a strong woman; she has got back to work and is also taking care of her child. Women like her should be celebrated.”
