01/5Reasons why you should never ask about pregnancy

Planning a baby is an emotional and private matter for a couple. Some are lucky to conceive naturally and within a few months of trying, while for others the road to pregnancy is full of challenges. Sticking your nose in such a personal decision is morally incorrect and can go wrong in many ways. Model and celeb mom Chrissy Teigen has sent out a message in the same line.

After a heartbreaking pregnancy loss in 2020, Chrissy recently took to her Instagram handle to reveal that she and singer husband John Legend are trying to conceive once again through IVF. But along with this news, she also gently reminded everyone to stop asking if she is pregnant.

Why does Chrissy not want people to ask her about her pregnancy?

The 36-year-old in her Instagram post wrote that she is in the middle of her IVF cycle, which makes her feel bloated at times and her belly appears bigger than usual. Though she is hopeful that she will make healthy embryos, she is not pregnant and is not comfortable answering questions related to the same.

She wrote that “Because while I know it’s said with excited, good intentions, it just kind of sucks to hear because I am the opposite of pregnant!” She further went on to say that one should not bite your tongue around anyone when you are not aware of the complete situation.

Chrissy and her husband John have two kids- Luna (5 years), and Miles (3 years) - who were conceived via IVF. The couple lost their third child, Jack, due to complications in pregnancy in September 2020.

This powerful message by the celeb mom is a reminder to all why they should stop commenting on someone's pregnancy journey. For you, it might seem like an innocent question, but it can be emotionally draining for the other person. Here are three reasons you should never do it.
