Angarki Chaturthi 2024: Chaturthi Tithi is dedicated to worship Lord Ganesha. There are 24 Chaturthi observances in the year once occurs during Shukla Paksha and another falls during Krishna Paksha. In the month of Ashadha, Sankasthi Chaturthi is being observed on Tuesday during Krishna Paksha. Chaturthi that falls on Tuesday, known as Aangarki Chaturthi.
This month, Chaturthi Fast is being observed today i.e., on June 25, 2024.
Angarki Chaturthi 2024: Step by Step Puja Guide
  • Morning Rituals - Devotees are advised to wake up early in the morning and take a holy bath before starting puja rituals.
  • Observe Fast - From sunrise until moonrise, devotees keep a fast. While some may follow a total fast, without eating anything at all, others may choose to observe a partial fast, consuming just fruits and dairy products.
  • Set up Altar - Devotees set up an altar before starting Ganesha Puja and spread a red or yellow cotton cloth on a wooden plank and place an idol of Lord Ganesha.
  • Puja Samagri - Take desi cow ghee, wicks, incense sticks, durva grass, sweets (yellow boondi laddoo or modaks), kalash, meetha paan, roli, mauli, bananas, supari, akshat and green elaichi.
  • Recitation of Story - Worship Lord Ganesha by reciting a story which can be bindayak kahani.
  • Chanting Mantras - Devotees must chant various Vedic Lord Ganesha Mantras 108 times.
  • Meditation - People must get involved in meditation and yoga dhyan.
  • Visit Temple - Devotees can visit lord Ganesha temple and offer Laddoo and Put red chandan colour tilak to Lord Ganpati.
  • Chandra Puja - One must worship Lord Moon in the evening after Moonrise. They should offer water to Lord Moon and offer flowers. Chant Mantra dedicated to Moon - "Om Sram Sreem Srom Saha Chandramase Namah".
  • Break your fast - Devotees can break their fast in the evening but they are advised to eat sattvik food without onion and garlic.

People who are suffering from Mangal Dosha, can perform Angarki Chaturthi Vrat and offer prayers to Lord Ganesha and Lord Hanuman. They must put red chandan tilak to Lord Ganpati and you can put it on yourself also.
