Kevin Bacon tries going incognito only to find he prefers being famous

Actor Kevin Bacon recently shared his experience of trying to blend in with the general public using an elaborate disguise. Despite successfully going unnoticed, Bacon concluded that he much prefers his life as a famous person.
In an interview with Vanity Fair, Bacon discussed his experiment of using prosthetics to live as a non-famous person.Bacon explained that simply wearing glasses and a hat wasn’t enough to disguise him.So, he took it a step further by consulting a special effects makeup artist to create a prosthetic disguise. This included fake teeth, a slightly altered nose, and glasses, which completely transformed his appearance.
When he ventured out in his new look, no one recognized him. Initially, Bacon was pleased with the success of his disguise. However, the novelty quickly wore off, and he started to dislike the experience. He noticed that people were not particularly friendly, pushing past him and not showing any recognition or admiration. The reality of waiting in line for a coffee and the lack of fanfare made him realize how much he missed his usual life.

“He had to wait in line to, he didn’t know, buy a coffee or whatever. He was like, this sucks. He wanted to go back to being famous,” Bacon admitted.
The actor, who is set to star in Ti West’s upcoming horror film 'MaXXXine,' reflected on his experiment and his overall success. Despite the brief excitement of going incognito, he found that being famous suits him better. The experience highlighted for Bacon the perks of fame that he enjoys, including the recognition and affection from fans.
