Former US President Donald Trump made his first public appearance at the Republican National Convention in Milwaukee since surviving an assassination attempt over the weekend in Philadelphia. The 78-year-old entered the Fiserv Forum to thunderous applause from thousands of Republican delegates, supporters, and party members, holding his fist high in the air.Trump, sporting a bandage that partially covered his right ear, was greeted by chants of "fight" as he made his way into the hall towards the end of the convention's first day. As he waved to his supporters and joined his family members and new running mate JD Vance in their seats, the crowd on the convention floor and in the stadium sang along to a live performance of "God Bless the USA" by singer Lee Greenwood.Despite the room erupting around him with chants of "USA," Trump maintained a subdued demeanor throughout the event.
