Popular Bengali actor Bhaswar Chatterjee is all excited about his upcoming project where he will play Byomkesh Bakshi’s companion Ajit.

There is a lot of excitement around the upcoming season of ‘Byomkesh Bakshi’, starring none other than actor Anirban Bhattacharya. The 8th season has some interesting changes including the cast. Titled ‘Pinjraploe’, new season will star Bhaswar Chatterjee as detective Bakshi’s friend, constant companion and confidante Ajit Bandyopadhyay. Prior to this, viewers have seen actor Subrat Dutta essaying Ajit till season 3 while artist Suprobhat Das replaced him in season 4.
Now, Bhaswar is set to step into the shoe and play Ajit’s character.
He is all excited about the new project in his kitty. He is currently a part of Raj Chakraborty’s ‘Godhuli Alap’, which features him playing an advocate. Known for his acting mettle, Bhaswar, has been striking a fine balance among his TV commitment, movie and other projects.
Bhaswar was also a part of recently released psychological thriller ‘Roktokorobi’, starring Raima Sen and Vikram Chatterjee in the lead roles. Now, he is ready to entertain the audience as Ajit, one of the all-time favourite fiction characters of detective story lovers.
The soon-to-be-streamed web series, ‘Pinjrapole’, which is based on Sharadindu Bandyopadhyay’s ‘Chiriyakhana’, has an ensemble star cast. Besides Anirban, Bhaswar, it also has Ridhima Ghosh, Moitree Banerjee, Anuska Chakraborty, Sampurnaa Mandal and others playing prominent roles. Mandaar's co-writer Pratik Dutta has been roped in by the makers too while Sudipto Roy is directing the new season.
Expectations are quite high from Anirban starrer season 8, especially after the success of ‘Mandar’ and his recent Bollywood release.
